Our team held its first catapult competition! Four teams set out to design and build a catapult that would ultimately launch a tennis ball the farthest. While some catapults were only able to launch the tennis ball several yards, one was able to launch the ball over 55 yards! Nonetheless, all of the catapults were successful in launching the tennis ball and all of the members of the four teams deserve many applauds for their time and efforts. As a result of this successful competition, our team hopes to continue hosting a catapult competition for new members each year!

The winning catapult can be seen in the gallery and slideshow below. It is clearly marked with the numbers “114″ in red spray paint.

Unfortunately, the above images was taken two years later. As you can probably tell, much of the arm and electronics have been stripped off of this robot for recreational purposes.

There once was a time, a long, long time ago in a galaxy far away when people were content their team’s logos…

But alas, that day has come to pass, thus we labor and our creative minds to draw something new. This idea has been long in the brewing. As early as last year, multiple members voiced their interest in a new logo during our oh-so-orderly lunch meetings. Nothing happened until a recent meeting in which we decided to take a break from our normal duties, gather round the white board and hand everyone writing utensils. Through much shouting and unusual hand waving we produced the following Louve-class masterpieces.
