We are team # 114 from Los Altos High School, and ever since 1997, we have been participating in FIRST Robotics Competitions and have won some awards. We also outreach to others in the community, such as demoing our robot to preschoolers and inspiring FLL members to join FRC.

Why We Fly (Our Goals & Philosophy)

“It’s not about the robot” – (Dean Kamen).

We believe that the purpose of robotics is not necessarily to build the best robot but to mold high school students to be the best future leaders of science and innovation. We start with ideas. To us, an idea is like a seed. Plant it. Nurture it. Watch it grow. This is the easiest part because everyone has ideas.

Our team is frequently featured in many newspapers including The Talon and San Jose Mercury News. More articles are coming as soon as we dig them up and dust them off.

Working hard on the new cart! Our ideas was to add a second stage. This would allow us to put spare parts, batteries, and tools underneath the robot for quick access. Check out the CAD images below.

This plastic printed logo was found in our storage shed from an old robot. Pretty cool, yes?

Our new logo was created by Craig, a former member of our team. This image was initially painted onto the 2010 shipping crate that the robot was sent in.
