Build Season: Day 32 (2/7/2012)

Today, we got the frame welded! Our welder (Applied Welding Technology) uses Argon gas to weld pieces of aluminium together. Check out the video and photos below!

We did some sweet math to determine whether we should use a set of grid points to experimentally determine the optimal velocity and shooting angle. We need to decide between this and using theoretical kinematics (with an experimentally determined drag coefficient) instead. Either way, we are planning on using a look-up table to retrieve these values for ease of use.

We still need to determine the equation for the offset due to angle for the optimal backboard aiming point.
