Our first competition of the season! Overall, we did not place that well, though our robot was greatly improved from a mechanical perspective. We placed 39th out of 50, not an impressive showing. Nonetheless, our robot came out having a successful bridge tipper, a strong shooter, and a solid drive train.

Our largest achievement at Davis (besides implementing successful code) is the bridge tipper. Throughout the build season, many ideas passed through the brainstorming process and few made it out. We ended up going with a pneumatic powered tipper that pushes the bridge down. With this, we were able to balance on the bridge quite well.

One interesting thing to note about this years competition (at least at Davis) – during many matches,  almost half of the teleoperated time was designated to balancing  on the bridge.

Pictures and videos will be posted when we are back from our next competition: SVR!
