Unlike a lot of people (from what I’ve seen), this finale is really great. I can see why people don’t like it, but overall to me it works really well with what the show had been setting up. Can’t wait for season 2!
Ngl I’m not exactly in love with this finale. I mean, the Simon resolution was fantastic. It’s the fiona and cake resolution that I don’t completely love. Pretty much from the moment everyone from the other dimensions came, I was like “okay. Are you kidding me? You’ve got to me.” I kind of especially dislike farm world Finnish kid coming over and just being like “hey. Cool if we stay here?” I mean, we saw his dad die. He doesn’t seem to care here
]]>Though all of Simons traveling though dimensions and different multiverses, when he finally gets to see Golb Betty, she warps him to no different reality, but their future. Which Simon has no clue of course, and the story of Casper and Nova isn’t a book written by an alternate Simon, but rather the young girl, Astrid wrote the story of the crown based of Simons epiphany and stories he comes up with after he comes back to Ooo with when he finally comes from his journey. All Simon needed was a lesson from himself in the future to understand where we went wrong in the past.

Well tbh, we saw in stakes that quite a few people were surviving the apocalypse up until Marcy met with them. Sure she saved them from the vamps but the point stands that people were living for long enough for her to make it to adulthood.In the star people were still surviving 1000 years latter with Marcy (one of the most powerful creatures in the setting) hunting them down.
Sure they were almost extinct by then but that’s after 1000 years.
I really do think that Simon not finding the crown could have led to something better for both him, Betty and marcy. Besides if the original timeline being the best was true, it would go against the series messaging about making better choices
I really don’t understand the Lichs reasoning It seems like what he was trying to accomplish Golb would hate chaos is not killing everything because then it would be completely peaceful and silent, which isnt really something I think Golb wants being a being of chaos

I think it’s implied that the crown and it’s magic is what kept him alive from the Mushroom War, especially with the line in his note to Marceline saying “This magic keeps me alive, but its making me crazy,” so not having the crown would probably have him die from the bomb itself. Not taking into account him following Betty more could lead to him being in a drastically different part of the earth with researching.
